Dads
I don't think I've ever made a bag that had such an important message and meaning to me. When I first saw this fabric, I knew straight away that I had to get it.
I reckon that the designer of the fabric just made a cute mermen pirates print suitable for little boys. But my mind had seen something else. I don't know why, maybe because I didn't grow up with a real dad by my side, I just notice dads everywhere. But why stop here, maybe they are actually a family together?
I am from Poland and in my country same-sex marriages are not legally recognised. No to mention adoption by a same-sex couple (it doesn't matter if they are men or women).
I added a rainbow strap (the rainbow symbol is still illegal in countries like Russia, for example) to show support for people who can't legally be a family, can't adopt children and live like others.

I hope that people in Britain appreciate how fortunate they are. Although I cannot speak for them all and I am sure there is always room for improvement.
Happily, I made this bag on time and I can share the result with you during the Glasgow Pride weekend.
The fabric is waterproof and the corners are reinforced with bottle-green Washpapa and metal bag feet.
I made two short handles and a longer, regulated strap, so the bag can be carried as a handbag, shoulder bag and cross-body bag by anyone who wishes to ;)
Like all the bags I make, this one also has a lining and internal pockets.
Also, did you spot this subtle rainbow zip?
Love is love!
