Mermaid Bucket Hobo Bag

After a little bit too long break, I am back with the new bag. ;)

 

The Mermaid Bucket Hobo Bag combines two different styles into one bag.

I adapted a pattern I bought from PDF Sewing Patterns for a hobo bag, replaced the original oval bottom with a round one and gave it some of the characteristics of a bucket bag too.

The top section is made of waterproof polyester with a turquoise, pink, gold and purple mermaid scales print. I like this print so much and I am already planning another 'mermaidy' bag.

The strengthened base is in Aged Washpapa (washable craft paper) that I hand-dyed in Bahama Blue (Dylon) and has silver eyelets and a decorative detail of silver and gold ricrac.

There are matching protective silver feet on the bottom too.

The strap combines Bahama Blue Aged Washpapa and yellow webbing tape and is attached to the bag with two silver rings, with a whimsical handmade tassel and tag with the logo clipped to one of them.

Open the rainbow zip and you will find a powder pink and turquoise waterproof polyester lining with two small patch pockets and a zipped pocket too.
