Dalahäst, Wycinanki and Washpapa meet
Don’t ask me why, but I have a thing
for Dalahäst horses.
They only became a thing back in the
1930s, but the carved wooden toys from the Dalarna region of Sweden soon became
a symbol of the nation.
I can see why, because they are
strong, simple but striking - a classic piece of distinctive design.
Dalahäst horses are normally mainly
red, but for my latest bag, I have switched it round so mine is in green
Washpapa on a red polyester felt background.
The crossover messenger bag is a
fusion of strong colour.
It is bordered with red pompoms and has
a tail-like tassel, again in green Washpapa.
Holding it by your side is a long
groovy woven multi-coloured strap.
And open up the rainbow zip and you
will find a floral print inspired by Wycinanki, Polish paper cut art, on a
black background.
There’s a handy pocket on either side
for your mobile, tickets, or other items.
