The non-Christmas, Christmas jumper
“Chim chiminey/Chim chiminey/Chim
chim cheroo!”
I’m sure a lot of you are familiar
with Bert’s song from the musical Mary Poppins.
And so it came to pass that our
family sat down to watch the movie, somewhat appropriately, a matter of hours
after I finished making this chimney-collar sweatshirt for my husband’s Christmas.
However, it’s definitely a
non-Christmas jumper. No snowman, reindeer or Santas here, giving it
all-year-round appeal.
Instead, it is a “coat” of many
colours. We live near Paisley and this is a neo-Paisley pattern swirl of
orange, yellow, red and green on a black background.
The thick, high-quality sweatshirt
Lace Flowers fabric comes from dresowka.pl. Smooth from the top and brushed from
the bottom, it is designed to be durable, abrasion resistant, with a high
resistance to pilling, and not to crack the high-resolution digital print.
To add to the cosyness when faced
with wintery weather, the chimney neck has two ties through eyelets from Inny Wymiar Szycia.
It’s not just a sweep who is “lucky
as lucky can be”.
“In this 'ole wide world/There's no
'appier bloke,” my husband said.
I swept him off his feet with magic
needles that make me the Mary Poppins of sewing apparently!;)
