Frida Hip Bag
Frida Kahlo is one of my biggest inspirations and I
can just imagine the late Mexican artist wearing this little hip bag.
She is world renowned for her colourful folk art
style and this bag features shades typical of her homeland.
It’s made of Washpapa Greenery, which is the
Pantone shade of 2017, a refreshing, zesty yellow-green that’s said to
symbolise new beginnings.
It is decorated with red and green ricrac on gold
Washpapa, plus playful red pom-poms. Unzip and inside you’ll find a contrasting
navy cotton print of colourful butterflies with a little separate pocket.
The Greenery shade is supposed to evoke the first
days of spring. Unfortunately, the bag was finished as winter descends on
Scotland, but I did manage to find a weather window of about 15 minutes between
rain showers and dark, forbidding clouds to take these photos.
I know the colour combination won’t be to
everyone’s taste, but they brighten up my winter days and make me smile.
