Monstera Dress
If you liked the Monstera Bag, you might like this
kimono-style dress that continues the leafy theme.
It combines three fabrics from dresowka.pl,
with the garment built around Tropic Leaves - a strikingly pretty retro digital
printed designed by Zuzanna Kiełbasa of two shades of green Monstera leaves on
a white background.
Designed for light sweatshirts as well as dresses, it is
made from a combination of a composite cotton yarn and silicone-based
plasticisers (92% cotton, 8% elastic) that produce an exceptionally smooth and
soft feel.
I split it by two sashes, with the olive green one
in the same cotton/elastan fabric. The other, in gold lame, is 80% polyester,
16% viscose and 4% spandex.
The bat sleeve is designed to make it cool enough
to wear over a bikini in the summer sun.
That was the plan at least. As the Saharan heatwave
hit Crete while we were on holiday there, even this loose dress was too warm at
times.
However, I braved the high 30s for a photo shoot at
the beautiful Agia Fotini beach. This wee oasis of calm and quiet on the south
of the island was the perfect setting to show the Monstera Dress in full bloom.
