Birdies in the garden
What a difference a year makes. Exactly a year
ago yesterday, I was being married in glorious sunshine.
Twelve months on, there was no rest for the
wicked on our anniversary, as I dodged bouts of Scottish drizzle to showcase my
latest creations.
Yes, autumn is creeping up on us, but it’s not
too late to enjoy the last days of summer with the birds, the bees and the
flowers.
The gardens at the House of the Art Lover in
Glasgow are looking splendid in full bloom and were the perfect backdrop for
the top and skirt I made the night before.
Both coral coloured fabrics were bought during our summer
holiday in Gdańsk - but I initially never thought about making matching garments from them.

Awkward twirl, haha |
The cap-sleeve crop-top is in a Polish folk-inspired cotton print of birds and flowers.
Meanwhile, the mid-length skirt with pleated lower front and back is in neoprene net (also called bonded jersey
net).
Whether you class this as autumn because the meteorological calendar suggests it begins on 1 September, or summer, because the astronomical one says it ends on the 22nd, I hope my outfit brightens up your day as much as it did mine.
