Birthday Bag
I can't remember how often I would buy fabrics only because I liked them and without having any specific project in mind. That's exactly what happened when I bought this beautiful jacquard fabric at Mandors in Glasgow. It features woodland animals like rabbits, squirrels and foxes. I immediately sent a picture of the fabric to one of my Crazy Bunny Lady friends and she loved it too. It was lucky as it meant that I would have a birthday present for her sorted.

It wasn't a big piece of fabric, so my project had to have a limited
size. I thought about making cushion covers because it is a
furnishing/curtain fabric after all. But I felt that that would be
just too boring. Instead, I decided to make small handbags. I made two
versions, placing the pattern piece in a different place on the fabric
pattern. You can see the difference comparing the first and second photo. I
decided that my friend will like the second version better as it
features the rabbit more in the centre.

Of
course, I wouldn't be myself if I didn't add some sparkle to my work. I
decided to decorate the edge of the bag with Czech glass pearls and
beads. I think it looks very decorative.

I
had to wait to post photos until my friend received her gift via
post and I am pleased that the bag was delivered without any problems and now I
can share one of my newest designs with you :)
